🌱 Getting Started
This bundle is built for the warm weather, gatherings, and the grill.
Plant everything after your last frost when the soil has warmed because all crops in this bundle love heat and will struggle if planted too early.
Give them a full-sun location with plenty of space to spread out and produce through the summer.
☀️ Sun Requirements
Every crop in this bundle needs 6–8 hours of full sun minimum.
Corn, peppers, eggplant, and watermelon are especially sun-dependent.
💧 Watering
Summer crops are thirsty. Water deeply and consistently, aiming for 1–2 inches per week and more during heat waves.
Water at the base of plants in the morning.
Mulching around plants significantly reduces water needs and keeps roots cool.
✂️ Harvesting
Check your garden every day or two in peak summer.
Zucchini and cucumbers grow fast.
Corn is ready when silk turns brown and kernels are plump.
Watermelon is ripe when the tendril near the fruit turns brown and dry.
🧺 Storing Your Harvest
Corn is sweetest right after harvest, so refrigerate immediately if not grilling that day.
Watermelon keeps at room temperature for a few days and in the refrigerator once cut.
Peppers, eggplant, and zucchini store best at room temperature for a day or two, or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
